Renaissance” sets course for Lloyd Werft

The cruise ship “Renaissance,” owned by CFC Croisières, is set for €15m modernization at Lloyd Werft shipyard.

Sailing since summer 2023, the ship, built in 1993, recently left Marseille after a New Year’s Eve cruise. Upgrades will include emission-reduction technology, a shore power system, and redesigned cabins and public areas.

Managed by Hamburg-based BSM Cruise Services, the 1,100-passenger vessel was originally built as “Maasdam” for Holland-America Line and later renamed “Aegean Myth” during its time with Seajets. Acquired by CFC for US$30m in 2022, it underwent refits before entering service in mid-2023.

Planned voyages in early 2025 were canceled for the extended shipyard stay. Its first post-refit trip is a 15-night journey to northern Norway, departing Le Havre on 1 March.
