A New Era Begins for One of Denmark’s Most Historic and Innovative Maritime Companies

On July 1st, a new era began for one of Denmark’s most traditional and innovative maritime companies. Wärtsilä Lyngsø Marine A/S has officially transitioned to new ownership – the Nordic technology investment fund Solix – and has accordingly changed its name to NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S.

This change not only marks a new ownership structure but also a strong commitment to building on the company’s decades of experience and prominent position in the global maritime industry. As part of NACOS Marine, NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S will now be even better positioned to ensure the operation, safety, and cybersecurity of modern ships with some of the world’s most advanced automation and navigation systems.

New Name – Same Strong Values

Under the new name, NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S continues its well-known dedication to maritime innovation. The company’s Danish roots and development capabilities remain unchanged – and the new owner, Solix, brings both strategic and financial strength to accelerate growth and expand technological possibilities.

NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S is the only Danish company that develops, designs, and manufactures fully integrated automation, navigation, and control systems. This ensures not only high quality and operational reliability but also flexibility and control across the entire value chain.

“We are proud of our heritage and full of ambition for the future. With Solix as our new owner and the name NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S, we send a clear signal: we remain true to our DNA – and we are ready to build on it, with the same skilled and passionate employees,” says Managing Director Christian Madsen Skytte.

Exciting Future Prospects

With the increasing global production of ships – especially naval vessels and cruise ships – the entire NACOS Marine group is entering a period of significant growth. The demands for integration, robustness, and onboard safety are higher than ever – and this aligns perfectly with the company’s competencies and solutions.

“We see great opportunities for growth, both technologically and geographically. Ships are becoming more complex, and the demand for intelligent, secure, and user-friendly technology is growing. That is exactly what we deliver – and now we are in an even stronger position to do so,” says Christian Madsen Skytte.

Danish Roots and a Global Outlook

The story of Lyngsø Marine begins back in 1952, when Søren Troelsen Lyngsø (1921–2012) founded the company Søren T. Lyngsø A/S after a career including work with the Royal Danish Navy’s Mine Service. This marked the beginning of a company that would go on to develop everything from automatic aircraft landing systems and parcel sorting machines to ship bridges and control systems for ships and power plants.

Today, the company’s maritime automation and integrated control systems range from simple setups with a few workstations to complex solutions for cruise ships, naval vessels, and advanced cargo ships. Core functionalities of these systems include:

· Engine monitoring and control
· Propulsion control and safety systems
· Advanced fire extinguishing and emergency shutdown functions
· Container and cargo monitoring
· Hotel systems for cruise ships
· Performance and environmental data, including fuel efficiency and emissions monitoring
· Fully integrated bridge and automation systems

One of the company’s clear focus areas in the coming years is to stay at the forefront of digital development, especially the increasing importance of cybersecurity in the maritime sector. NACOS Lyngsø Marine A/S is already a leading player in this field.

Since 2006, the company has been based in the historic buildings that once housed the Royal Military Clothing Factory in Hørsholm – a beautiful symbol of the combination of tradition and modern technology.
