German Naval Yards Secures Major Superyacht Order
Kiel-based German Naval Yards, long focused on naval projects, has landed a major contract in the superyacht segment – the 114-meter Project ELF. The yacht, with a gross tonnage of 4,950 and 15.8 meters in width, is scheduled for delivery in 2028.

Roger Friedrich of Junonia Yacht Consultants, representing the owner, stated: “In German Naval Yards, we have found the perfect partner to realize our vision for Project ELF. Their technical expertise, attention to detail and extensive experience in major yacht building projects make them the ideal choice.”
The shipyard confirmed the order concerns the completion of the 114-meter superyacht, though specific details remain undisclosed. Reports suggest the vessel may be linked to a former Dörries Yards project known as Arwen.
Now part of the CMN Naval Group, German Naval Yards aims to strengthen its role among the world’s leading large-yacht builders. The shipyard previously contributed to high-profile projects such as the 143-meter Sailing Yacht A. With its vast dry dock (426 m) and 900-ton gantry crane, the yard continues a long tradition of German engineering excellence.
Project ELF will accommodate 18 guests and 39 crew, featuring design by Pindaros LLC and Andy Waugh Yacht Design, with interiors by Pindaros and Laurent Champeau. Highlights include a 20-meter pool, expansive decks, and bespoke features to be revealed as construction progresses.
CEO Rino Brugge commented: “With Project ELF, we once again underline German excellence and craftsmanship in a vessel of exceptional size and sophistication.”
