Excitement grows for Nor-Shipping
Your Arena for Ocean Solutions, taking place 4-7 April, is set to be one of the first large-scale international industry event of its kind since the inception of the pandemic in March 2020. Tens of thousands of decision makers from around the world are expected to flock to Lillestrøm and Oslo, with exhibitors drawn from well over 30 separate nations. National pavilions have been confirmed for key markets including Turkey, Denmark, Germany, Spain, USA, UK, Finland, Japan, The Netherlands and, of course, Norway.

People power
Sidsel Norvik, Director, Nor-Shipping says companies are “over the moon” about the prospect of face-to-face meetings with key industry contacts.
“They, like we, have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to gather, network, share knowledge, showcase solutions and build profitable partnerships,” she notes. “The industry has coped remarkably well during the pandemic, but there is a clear need – a hunger – to get ‘back to business’ and meet the people that matter. Nor-Shipping 2022 provides the perfect platform.”
Removal of restrictions delivers “perfect platform”
With no further regulations relating to social distancing, event numbers, international travel, or the use of facemasks, Your Arena for Ocean Solutions can run a full exhibition and event programme for the first time since its successful 2019 outing. Norvik notes that, with the April 4-7 dates fast approaching, Nor-Shipping will be a “post pandemic celebration”, giving the industry the perfect platform to re-engage, reboot and re-energise partnerships and ambitions.
Excitement, and big names, gathering for Nor-Shipping conference
“The Ocean Leadership Conference is always a major international draw, and this year is gearing up to be extra special,” comments Knut Erik Dahle, Nor-Shipping Head of Conference and Event. “The quality of the speakers and panellists we have on stage is one thing, but the attraction of networking at this level can’t be overlooked.
“Opportunities like this are few and far between at the best of times, but after what we’ve been through with coronavirus this is generating real excitement. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a strong ticket demand six weeks ahead of the actual event. It’s going to be full, insightful and, with the main themes of People, Power and Money, offer something for everyone with an interest in the future of ocean business.”
A diverse array of A-list speakers and panellists have now confirmed their participation on Nor-Shipping’s conference stage in Hall E in Lillestrøm. They include Kjerstin Braathen, CEO DNB, Bjørnar Selnes Skjæran, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy Norway, teenage entrepreneur Femi Owolade-Coombes, Kitack Lim, Secretary General IMO, Håkan Agnevall, President & CEO Wärtsilä Corporation, Magda Kopczynska, Director for Innovative and Sustainable Mobility DG MOVE, and former Secretary General of NATO and Prime Minister of Denmark Anders Fogh Rasmussen, amongst others.
