New executive director of Maritimt Forum in Sweden
With deep roots in the shipping and port sector, the organisation gains a director with a strong foothold in the maritime industry, taking office on 12 August.

Julia Christensson has been appointed the new executive director of The Swedish Maritime Forum and will assume the role on 12 August. She joins from her most recent position as manager of public affairs & grants at the Port of Gothenburg, bringing with her extensive experience from across the maritime and port sector.

Christensson herself expressed enthusiasm for the appointment and outlined her priorities ahead of taking office.
“I am very proud and honoured by the trust placed in me to lead The Maritime Forum forward. My ambition is to continue strengthening the maritime industry by bringing together people and organisations around relevant and current areas as external affairs, competence supply and technological development. I strongly believe in the power of collaboration; it is when different parts of the industry meet that we collectively build the strong maritime sector of the future.”

The current executive director, Carolina Kihlström, concludes her tenure with The Maritime Forum on 31 July, after which she will take up the position of CEO of Swedish Shipbrokers Association on 1 August.
