Celebrate women in marine at Seawork

In celebration of WISTA’s 50th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of Seawork, join us for the 2024 Women in Marine Industry event on the first day of Seawork 2024.

Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from Keynote speakers, ask questions during a live panel debate, and enjoy the opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals during a relaxed and informal drinks reception.

Speakers include Louise Sara, Fleet Captain: Director – Maritime Standards Carnival Corporation & plc.  Louise etched her name in maritime history when her exceptional skills and determination culminated in her appointment as the first female and youngest captain by P&O Ferries on the English Channel.

Now helming the dual responsibilities of Fleet Captain and Director of Maritime Standards at Carnival Corporation, Louise continues to drive progress and innovation within the industry. Her dedication to fostering diversity and empowerment is evident through her establishment of the Women Officers Network within Carnival Corporation.

WISTA UK’s president Monica Kohli will moderate the event. Monica said, “WISTA UK are delighted to be partnering with Seawork and hosting an event together in Southampton this year. This is the third of the regional events planned by WISTA UK during their Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2024, following on from events in Liverpool and Edinburgh.

“Started in 1974, WISTA UK has gone from strength to strength in the past 5 decades and now has members across the country and through the regions in UK; and as part of the WISTA International network, is connected to 59 National WISTA Associations worldwide.”

The WISTA & Seawork Women in Marine Industry Event takes place on Tuesday, 11 Jun 2024 from 15:00 – 17:30
