USTC to Establish New Copenhagen Hub at Marmormolen
The owners and management of Danish-owned USTC have decided to bring the group's companies in the Greater Copenhagen area together in a new shared USTC Hub. The new hub will be located at the recently completed Marmormolen development in Copenhagen's Nordhavn district, where more than 150 employees from several group companies will work under one roof.
The USTC Hub is designed to create stronger opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the group’s independent businesses. By bringing colleagues closer together, USTC aims to strengthen the connections between its companies while encouraging the exchange of ideas and commercial opportunities across the organisation.
“We already have USTC Hubs in locations such as Houston and Singapore, where several of our companies are based together,” said Nina Østergaard, Co-owner and CEO of USTC. “These hubs have created strong professional communities and generated valuable synergies across the organisation. For a long time, we have wanted to establish a similar concept in Copenhagen. At the same time, we will use the experience gained here to explore opportunities for additional hubs elsewhere in the world where it makes business sense.”
Encouraging Greater Daily Collaboration
The new USTC Hub will occupy more than 3,000 square metres on the sixth floor of Marmormolen and will include access to rooftop terraces, shared lounges, cafés, and dining facilities. The layout has been designed to support both formal and informal interactions between employees from different companies and business units.
According to Nina Østergaard, the purpose is not to create uniformity across the group’s businesses.
“The hub will serve as a platform for closer collaboration and knowledge sharing, but the objective is not to make our companies alike. On the contrary, our differences are one of our greatest strengths. Each company has its own expertise and direction. By moving closer together, we create better opportunities to learn from one another, build connections, and leverage the strengths that exist across our entire organisation.”
Supporting Growth and Strengthening Culture
The establishment of the USTC Hub also supports the group’s long-term growth ambitions and its efforts to create an attractive professional environment for current and future employees.
“We are a Danish group with offices around the world, and we have ambitions to continue developing our business. It therefore makes sense to maintain a strong base in Copenhagen. It brings us closer to businesses, professional networks, and many of the competencies we will need in the future. At the same time, it gives us a stronger position when attracting talented people,” said Nina Østergaard.
Beyond supporting collaboration and recruitment, the new hub is expected to reinforce the culture and values shared across USTC’s companies. While maintaining their individual identities, the businesses will benefit from a common foundation built on entrepreneurship, responsibility, agility, and close engagement with customers and operations.
Employees from Bunker Holding, Dan-Bunkering, Global Risk Management, CM Biomass, Unit IT, Uni-Tankers, Selfinvest, and USTC will move into the new facility. The lease agreement becomes effective on 1 December 2026, with employees and companies relocating to the hub in phases thereafter.
Designed by Henning Larsen and developed by AP Pension, Marmormolen will become one of Denmark’s largest timber construction projects. Located directly on Copenhagen’s waterfront in Nordhavn, the building has been designed with a strong focus on employee wellbeing, productivity, and creating a healthy working environment.
