Meet Janie Søgaard – Bringing two decades of maritime expertise to MARPRO Group

“I have 20+ years of experience in marine control and post-fixture operations within some of the great shipping companies such as Maersk Line, DS Norden, MUR and Lauritzen. My focus has always been on fostering robust client relations and exploring new ways to strengthen the processes” Janie explains.

Her solid industry background and dedication to relationship-building make her a natural fit for MARPRO’s client and candidate-focused approach.

What attracted Janie to MARPRO and her current role?

“The company’s mission and the way we work together with our clients, candidates and within our group,” she says simply, a clear reflection of her values aligning with MARPRO’s collaborative culture.

How have the first few months shaped up?

“They have been filled with a lot of learning, good fun and great laughs.”

Joining a new company can be a big transition, but Janie has embraced it with energy and enthusiasm, quickly becoming an integral part of the team.

Janie’s role at MARPRO is anything but one-dimensional.

“I am recruiting for various roles, both on my own and in cooperation with the rest of the team. I am also doing accounting and setting up our newsletter as well, so never a dull moment!”

Her versatility and proactive mindset allow her to contribute across departments from recruitment to communications and finance.

Looking ahead, what is she most excited about?

“Becoming more confident in the various tasks I am involved with – and being able to ring that bell” she says with a smile, referencing MARPRO’s tradition of celebrating successful placements.

And something you might not know about Janie?

“I used to play a lot of sports and participated in the selection for the Danish youth national handball team – but did not make the final selection.”
