MAN expands its portfolio

MAN Engines is introducing the “MAN D3872 LE432” V12 workboat engine, with 30-liter displacement, delivering 1,213 kW (1,650 hp) at 2,100 rpm for medium-duty applications like wind farm vessels, ferries, and fishing boats. More powerful versions (1,471 and 1,618 kW) for light-duty applications are already in production.

The engine benefits from innovations like improved coolant systems, redesigned cylinder heads, and a new common rail injection system for better fuel efficiency and emissions. The MD1+ engine control unit optimizes performance, while a high power density (54.7 kW per liter) is achieved. It is also designed for MAN’s Smart Hybrid Experience and compatible with renewable diesel.

The engine underwent extensive bench testing and meets current emissions standards, expanding MAN Engines’ portfolio with a powerful, versatile V12 option.
