HEMEXPO’s global reach

According to the Union of Greek Shipowners’ 2023–2024 report, Greece controls over 20% of global deadweight tonnage, maintaining its status as the leading ship-owning nation.

While Greek marine equipment makers have a smaller market share, they’ve made significant progress in the last decade, supported by HEMEXPO (Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters).

Founded in 2014, HEMEXPO has provided Greek maritime technology companies with opportunities to expand internationally.

Prisma Electronics, through its maritime division LAROS, has benefitted greatly from HEMEXPO’s global reach. The association has helped foster partnerships and share best practices worldwide, enhancing the industry’s digital transformation. Prisma’s advanced technologies have played a key role in shipping’s shift towards digitalization, driving efficiency, reducing costs, and mitigating risks.

HEMEXPO also focuses on harmonizing global digital standards and improving system interoperability, while promoting the need for talent acquisition. By developing training initiatives, the association ensures that both new entrants and the existing workforce are equipped for the industry’s future challenges, including decarbonization and digitalization.

Through HEMEXPO, Greek innovators are well-positioned to navigate changing market dynamics and seize new opportunities in the evolving shipping landscape.
