Key moment for leading Fuels conference
This year’s Motorship Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference comes at a key moment for the shipping propulsion sector. It takes place from 25-27 November, following the International Maritime Organization’s Net-Zero Framework (IMO NZF) adoption meeting in October.

The conference is one of the longest‐running events in maritime propulsion and this year’s edition offers a perfect opportunity for the industry to come together to discuss, network and make progress on the latest from the IMO.
The Conference programme begins with a C-Suite panel focusing on regulation and includes sessions on:
- Ship designs for new fuels
- New generation LNG
- Navigating methanol
- Ammonia Sustainable Shipping or Safety Concern?
- Hydrogen and fuel cells
- Biofuels, credible path or short-term fix?
- Harnessing the wind, scaling up to meet demand.
- Onboard carbon capture
Over 150 professionals are expected from more than 30 countries, including classification societies; Government agencies, industry Associations, shipowners, engine and equipment manufacturers, supply chain and researchers.
The conference is in Hamburg, an ideal and pertinent location. The city boasts some of the best transport links of any European destination and sits at the heart of a robust German shipping market. Germany has the sixth largest merchant fleet in the world, with 295 shipping companies representing more than 1,900 vessels. The 89 shipping companies based in Hamburg, representing 61% of Germany’s gross tonnage, provide the Propulsion & Future Fuels conference with a solid industry foundation.
