Eco-friendly intermodal transportation

 

HMM has partnered with KORAIL to boost eco-friendly intermodal transportation, signing an MoU to expand inland rail use for refrigerated cargo.

The collaboration aims to create a seamless ‘Intermodal One-Stop Transportation System’ linking rail and maritime freight, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing logistics efficiency.

HMM and KORAIL plan to optimize a new container yard, establishing a major distribution hub and developing an international multimodal network for reefer containers.

HMM’s Container Business Unit head, Lee Jeong-Yeop, highlighted the importance of this initiative in providing eco-friendly services.
