Cyprus stands as a model of maritime excellence, with a strong ship registry and dynamic maritime cluster, securing its position as a leading maritime hub.
This year, Cyprus saw a significant increase in tonnage under its flag, driven by global shipowner support and new partnerships. The Cyprus Tonnage Tax System expanded by 14%, now covering 420 companies, boosting the national economy.
To enhance competitiveness, Cyprus has formed advisory committees and aims to fully digitize its Shipping Deputy Ministry by 2024. The One-Stop Shipping Centre improves service efficiency across government departments.
Maintaining fleet quality is crucial, with Cyprus consistently achieving “White List” status in the Paris and Tokyo MoUs on Port State Control.
As it celebrates its 60th anniversary, the Cyprus Ship Registry reflects on its legacy and future goals, highlighting its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and resilience in the global maritime industry.
