New financial investors take over the V.Group

V.Group, the world’s largest ship management provider, is set to be acquired by new financial investors.

Star Capital, based in London, has established a new fund to finance the purchase, with Ackermans & van Haaren as co-investors.

The transaction, pending regulatory approval, is expected to finalize in early fall 2024.

V.Group manages around 3,500 ships, employs 2,900 people across 50 branches in 30 countries, and has a pool of 44,000 seafarers.

Star Capital sees V.Group as a perfect fit for its investment strategy. This marks Star Capital’s fourth maritime investment.

Since its inception, Star Capital has built over 28 companies valued at over €10bn through more than 100 acquisitions, typically investing in companies with enterprise values between €50m and €1bn.
