
Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has launched a Maritime Training Center (MTC) in Ghana, strengthening its regional presence. Located at the Regional Maritime University (RMU) in Accra, the facility builds on BSM’s local office and cadet program, established in 2012.
The center offers professional training for cadets, officers, and ratings, complementing RMU’s programs. It also provides specialized courses for cruise ship hospitality crews.
“At BSM, we prioritize talent development to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations,” says Eva Rodriguez, HR Marine Director. “We’re also expanding our crew pool to meet rising demand.”
BSM has trained African seafarers for over a decade. Since 2012, its West African crew pool has grown from fewer than 30 to 600. The Ghana MTC is BSM’s sixth training center.
