Record summer for Scandlines
In 2024, Scandlines transported 2.7 million passengers during June, July, and August, up from 2.6 million in 2023. The number of cars also increased, from 716,509 to 727,978. In July alone, 3,003 buses were transported.
VP Head of Commercial Management Lars Kyrø noted high demand for ferry tickets early in the summer, and stable operations ensured no cancellations. The busiest weekend saw 146,209 passengers from July 19-21.
To avoid long waits, Scandlines encouraged travelers to book during less popular times, which many did. The company’s dynamic ticket system helped optimize ferry capacities and offer better prices for early bookings.
