LifeFinder Safety Tech to Equip All ARC Ro‑Ro Ships

A five-year agreement strengthens onboard crew safety on ARC fleet through real-time detection and positioning technology.

In emergency situations onboard vessels, rapid situational awareness is critical to protecting officers and crew. As part of its continued commitment to safety, American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) will deploy LifeFinder’s configurable safety tech platform across its entire fleet.

LifeFinder’s safety tech platform is designed to provide real-time visibility of crew location and abnormal conditions onboard, supporting faster and more informed response during incidents such as fires, injuries, or personnel disorientation. For ARC, the platform has been configured to address the operational challenges of large Ro-Ro vessels, with a primary focus on localizing the crew rapidly during emergency scenarios.

The decision follows a successful year-long pilot installation onboard the vessel ARC M/V Patriot, where LifeFinder and ARC collaborated closely to adapt the platform to ARC’s specific vessel layout, safety procedures, and operational requirements. The pilot demonstrated that fast and reliable localization of all officers and crew significantly improves emergency preparedness and reduces response time during critical incidents.

Based on the pilot results, ARC has now decided to roll out the LifeFinder safety tech platform across its entire fleet under a five-year agreement valued at approximately USD 2 million.

Making life at sea safer requires more than compliance – it requires new technology built around real operational needs. A whole new safety infrastructure. Together with ARC, we have developed a system that directly addresses the challenges crews face in emergency situations,” says Anders Schening, CEO of LifeFinder.
