MARPRO Group joins Swedish Maritime Technology Forum (SMTF)

Strategic membership expands MARPRO’s Nordic footprint and reinforces its commitment to maritime innovation

MARPRO Group, a well-established international provider of shore-based recruitment services tailored to the maritime and offshore industries, has officially joined the Swedish Maritime Technology Forum (SMTF), strengthening its presence in the Nordic region with a local Swedish office and aligning with one of Sweden’s key maritime networks.

SMTF, a non-profit national platform established in 2008 and hosted by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden since 2017, unites around 90 member organisations across the marine technology spectrum. With approximately 90% of its members being small and medium-sized enterprises, SMTF plays a crucial role in driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and representing Swedish maritime interests on both national and global stages.

The decision by MARPRO Group to become a member is seen as a strategic step. Known for its niche expertise in maritime recruitment and communication, MARPRO Group serves a wide range of clients, offering tailored services that support talent acquisition, business growth, and digital visibility in the maritime sector.

“We’re excited to join SMTF and contribute to its vibrant network of marine technology suppliers and service providers,” said Jakob le Fevre, Managing Director of MARPRO Group. “This partnership reflects our ambition to be an active player in the Scandinavian maritime ecosystem and support the innovation and visibility of maritime professionals and businesses.”

SMTF not only connects maritime suppliers and stakeholders, but also plays an active role in advancing the blue economy through collaborative R&D projects and its open innovation platform, SARGASSO. The platform enables companies to find novel solutions and new business partners via an extended network, accelerating the development of sustainable maritime technologies.

Additionally, SMTF provides its members with valuable networking opportunities, webinars, and the chance to participate in international exhibitions. Among its flagship initiatives are the Swedish National Pavilions at global shipping events such as SMM in Hamburg and Nor-Shipping in Oslo — venues where maritime innovation meets business opportunity.

With MARPRO’s track record in creating visibility and professional connections across the industry, its membership is expected to add valuable momentum to SMTF’s mission.

As the maritime industry continues to evolve, alliances like the one between MARPRO Group and SMTF are vital in shaping a collaborative, tech-forward future for the sector.
