Erria accelerates growth with acquisition of profitable Hellerup firm

The listed conglomerate Erria A/S is expanding its Danish platform through the acquisition of Nordic Marine Partner ApS ("NMP") in Hellerup, which will contribute to the Group’s growth through profitability, highly sought-after expertise, and an impressive customer portfolio. The acquisition is part of Erria’s offensive growth strategy to strengthen its maritime business and earnings in Denmark.

Erria A/S has today signed a conditional agreement to acquire all shares in NMP, which was founded in 2022 by current CEO Henrik Christensen and today employs six full-time staff. The acquisition of the well-managed and profitable NMP — which has delivered a positive result every year since its founding and achieved double-digit growth since inception — will be completed through a combination of a cash payment at closing and over a two-year period, as well as the issuance of new shares in Erria A/S. NMP will continue in its current form as an independent subsidiary under the Erria Group and will maintain business-as-usual continuity, continuing to serve its extensive customer base, which includes several major Danish shipping companies.

New business area: Manage the Manager
Over the past three years, NMP has specialized in a new and growing business segment: the “Manage the Manager” concept. NMP provides independent oversight and monitoring between shipowners and their third-party ship managers. Services include follow-up on contractual obligations, performance analyses (technical and financial), audits, and ensuring compliance with international maritime standards. The acquisition aligns with Erria’s strategy to enhance transparency, reduce operational risk, and improve quality in outsourced ship management.

Plug-and-play access to new customers
Erria CEO Henrik N. Andersen emphasizes that NMP is a sound business with internal competencies that are in high demand among shipowners: “Erria is an international company with multiple business lines, but with this acquisition, we are significantly strengthening our presence and capacity in Denmark. This plug-and-play solution gives us access to a broader customer network, along with six highly specialized employees delivering services that are increasingly in demand in the maritime sector.

Shipowners are focusing more on their core business and profits — not daily operations — which is why ‘Manage the Manager’ services are rapidly growing,” says Henrik N. Andersen. He continues: “We are therefore very pleased to welcome Henrik Christensen and the entire team at Nordic Marine Partner to the Erria family. NMP has quickly proven its ability to build a strong business, and Henrik has confidently led an impressive development. We look forward to further developing our joint platform, creating next-generation shipping solutions, and delivering even greater value to Erria’s customers.”

NMP CEO Henrik Christensen will continue in his current role and, with his extensive expertise, will contribute to the further development of Erria Group’s service offerings and the international rollout of NMP’s business model.
Henrik Christensen adds: “NMP would never have become a reality without the strong support from our existing customers from day one. Despite the widespread outsourcing of ship operations, these customers have consistently expressed a desire to preserve and future-proof technical expertise within Danish shipping — and for that, we owe them a great debt of gratitude.

It’s an expertise that, without them, would largely have been lost — and one that we now look forward to developing further together. Becoming part of Erria gives us access to a solid and well-established group with a global network and strong resources. This will enable us to accelerate our growth and strengthen our position — both with existing customers and with new potential partners.”
