On behalf of Stromma, MARPRO is looking for an Working Foreman/Jr Yard Manager for their yard in Zaandam and Amsterdam as well as for field work in the city of Amsterdam.
Job Summary:
In two years the current yard manager will retire and we are looking to replace him in a timely manner. You will start as a working foreman in our yards and will receive internal training to take over as a yard manager in due time. As an Foreman you are an important cog in the Stromma machine. Leading a team of up to 6 colleagues, you are responsible for the maintenance and repairs of our tour boats, electric sloops, pedal boats and Stromma locations. This entails various activities, so no two day are the same. One minute you’re working on a ship’s interior, the next you’re called upon to fix a malfunction on location. In addition, you also contribute to Stromma Netherlands’ goal of making the entire fleet electric. You work from the shipyard in Zaandam/Amsterdam and become part of a small team of enthusiastic technicians. Thanks to your hard work behind the scenes, Stromma is able to provide guests with an unforgettable onboard experience!
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the team in qualitative and efficient maintenance and repair will maintaining a hands on approach
- Keeping a detailed record of work carried out (administrative talent)
- Guaranteeing a safe working environment
- Making and coordinating solid plannings for your team
- Carrying out repairs (both on site and on location)
- Carrying out major and minor maintenance on diesel and electric engines
- Carrying out minor maintenance on the jetties and in our shops
- Contributing to the electrification of the fleet
Job Requirements:
- You preferably have an HBO diploma, in maritime technology or mechanical engineering
- You have demonstrably 3-5 years of experience with ship maintenance. Experience in marine engine maintenance is a plus
- You have electrical insight
- You are a coaching leader who is able to get the best out of his team
- Able to cooperate with outside agencies such as suppliers and subcontractors
- You have a positive and proactive attitude
- You can work quickly and solution-oriented under pressure
- You are prepared to work breakdown services schedules
- Preferably you are in possession of a small sailing license / VHF certificate (Marcom-B). Don’t you have this? We can help you obtain this
