We are looking for a new Project Manager to join Value Maritime’s team based in the Netherlands! Your main goal is to manage their projects of installing large equipment on ocean going vessels. Their technology is still relatively new but it’s proven and there is a lot to win in the shipping and carbon capture market. Using your knowledge of the maritime field and customer service skills you ensure you’re a perfect link between customer and company. All while maintaining a comprehensive overview and keeping in close touch with the Site Manager who is on jobs.

 

On behalf of Value Maritime, MARPRO is looking for a Project Manager. Do you want to make a significant contribution to the sustainability of the shipping industry? This is your chance! As project manager at Value Maritime in Rotterdam, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless installation of our Filtree systems. Professional Activities

As part of a team of maritime specialists, you are committed to make the shipping industry more sustainable. Every project and installation is different. Depending on the location and type of ship, you anticipate the challenges that may arise.

  • You make a planning for both the long and short term.
  • You liaise with all the teams involved such as engineering, procurement and the project team.
  • You are the point of contact for external parties, such as the shipyard, the shipping company and the subcontractors.
  • You anticipate unforeseen situations and ensure an adequate response.
  • You ensure that the parties involved take action and that the project runs on schedule.
  • You ensure that there is as little deviation from the scope as possible and coordinate this with the financial controller.

 

Commitment means commitment, you ensure that all parties are on the same page. The budget is agreed in advance and you keep a close eye on it. You do all this in a structured manner, and you record everything carefully. A clear communication both internally and externally is essential for a successful project that is completed within time, budget and scope.
You work well with the site manager and, if necessary, modifying objectives and schedules as needed, planning or funding changes.
For the installations, you will be present in different locations within Europe. For this you will travel about 3-5 days per month.

 

Personal Characteristics

You maintain oversight over all the projects and are creative in solving problems that may arise. In addition, you keep it cool and balance fun and a good sense of humor with hard work!

  • You have completed a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • You have experience in a (maritime) technical environment
  • You are a self-starter who likes to work in a team
  • You speak and write English, Dutch is an advantage
  • You are result oriented, proactive and easily communicate with stakeholders
  • You possess a driver’s licence (B)
  • Ability to work in Rotterdam (80/20 office/on site to be expected)
  • You have a good sense of humour – at VM, they like to laugh!
