On behalf of Stena Rederi A/S, MARPRO is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to join the office in Hellerup to manage a fleet of RoRo and ROPAX vessels.
About the position
Managing a team of Technical and Marine Fleet Superintendents, you will be overall responsible for the application of resources, the operation, and the activities of Stena Rederi A/S’s RoRo division. Furthermore, you will ensure that all vessels under control are maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition, complying with flag state legislation and international regulations. In addition, you will ensure a safe and efficient operation of all managed vessels, within agreed budgets.
You will report directly to the Managing Director.
- Planning the schedule for vessel visits and inspections
- Monitoring the movements of all vessels under control
- Appointment of new Masters, and Chief Engineers incl. appraisals and development talks
- Repairs and insurance claims
- Scrutinising periodical operating cost
- Review of vessel orders for repairs, dry-dockings, refits, spares, and stores
- Carrying out investigations and inquiries as appropriate into accidents, incidents, and major non-conformities
- Maintain and control technical files
- Crew training
- Reporting to the Managing Director and Owners
What we expect
You must be a skilled marine engineer with preferably min. 5-10 years of shore experience in a relevant role. RoPax experience is preferred but not required as well as experience with project management, e.g. larger technical modifications, change of flag etc. is preferred.
On a personal level, we expect you to be passionate about leadership, with an open and positive attitude. You promote a strong safety culture and have strong commercial understanding. You have experience in working with many different stakeholders such as class societies, vessel owners, clients, subcontractors, and internal functions.
Furthermore, we expect you to:
- Have a valid work permit
