Job Description

 

Based on Iceland and specialized in Smart Shipping, Marorka designs maritime energy monitoring and optimization systems for vessels, allowing them to reduce their environmental footprint. The company’s systems have been installed on more than 600 vessels.

On behalf of Marorka, MARPRO is looking for a commissioning engineer that can carry out tasks and to some extent supervise and plan the jobs onboard ships.

 

Professional experience:

  • You hold a suitable technical education. You have skills in electronics, mechanics, and electricity
  • You have technical working experience and experience working onboard ships
  • Commissioning experience is an advantage
  • Professional English
  • Permission to work in EU
  • You possess good interpersonal skills

Marorka manufactures hardware and software for digital performance management of ships. Onboard we install a server and electronic devices that we connect to equipment onboard the vessel.

 

A typical installation may involve:

  • Installation of server (PC) and electronic cabinets in bridge and engine control room
  • Connection to navigational equipment in bridge
  • Connection of flow meters, shaft power meter in engine room, engine control room
  • Installation and calibration of flow meters, configuration of communications
  • Configuration of server on ship’s network and connection to Internet via the ship’s VSAT
  • Configuration of Marorka software for communication with ship devices
  • Cabling work.
