Company Description

The experience of a scaleup.
The energy of a startup.

We4Sea simply love ships – especially when they are efficient. We believe that there is a lot that can be done to make ships and shipping more efficient. That’s why we started our journey.

The story behind how the company was founded

The company started back in 2016 in the strong believe that the transition to a more efficient shipping is inevitable.

The founders of We4Sea, Michiel Katgert and Dan Veen, met at TNO, the Dutch Organisation of Applied Scientific Research.  They were working together in a European project, using big data analytics to enhance shipping efficiency. And they developed some cool technology here!

Because they really believed in the technology and the approach they had developed, they launched the idea at Venture Scan, an internal TNO -project to validate our business plan. After winning the Venture Scan, they were granted a spot on the growth-program Port Innovation Lab,  hosted by Accelerator YES!Delft.  Succesfully finishing that route, they decided to make the jump and start the company: We4Sea.

We4Sea is on this journey with the aim to make ships more efficient. A goal in which they look for strong cooperation with their customers. They want to do so in a way that suits their informal and no-nonsense style.
