Dee4 Capital Partners is a private equity firm focused on maritime-related investments.

It was founded in 2019 by Carsten Mortensen and Freddie Lee and has grown quickly since then. To date, activities have mainly been in the MR product tanker segment (ten tankers on-the-water and another two on order with delivery in 2022), and currently the team is working on exciting transactions in different segments. Dee4 is passionate and united about what it does and has a strong ESG focus. As part of this the team promotes a safety-first culture and has a dedicated energy-conservation program.

Commercially, Dee4 employs its current fleet of vessels on time charters or in commercial pools with solid counterparties. On the technical side, Dee4 makes its own strategic decisions and works with reputable third party managers to assist with daily technical management.

They identify and execute transactions where they see long-term value, short-term dislocations, and/or superior risk-reward balance. Their core strategy is to accelerate the decarbonisation of the shipping industry, through the use of and investment in fuel-efficient vessels, future propulsion fuels combined with superior operational, technical and commercial asset management.

They raised their first fund in 2019, Dee4 Capital Fund I K/S, which final closed at $72 million. In addition, they have completed Co-investments to date with equity commitments of approximately $110 million.
