Concordia Damen delivers tanker Gamble
Concordia Damen has delivered a CDS Tanker 135. Last week, the vessel - designed by Concordia Damen itself - successfully completed its sea trials after being outfitted at the Concordia Damen shipyard in Werkendam by long-term outfitter CCM3 and several trusted suppliers and partners.

The MTS Gambler is 135 meters long and 11.45 meters wide, designed for the transport of mineral oils. The vessel boasts an impressive cargo capacity of 4,180 m³. Thanks to its proven and optimized design, the ship sails with minimal resistance and has a favorable speed-power curve. Propulsion is provided by two reliable CAT C32 engines (2 x 709 kW), ensuring low fuel consumption.
Karel Jan van de Pol, captain-owner of Gambler Shipping B.V., says:
“I’m very happy with our new ship. For us, this marks a new chapter in our company. We operate on the European inland waterways, and starting next week, the Gambler will begin its first transport. I chose Concordia Damen for our newbuild because of the personal approach of their team. They listened carefully to my wishes, both technically and regarding the accommodation—it’s our home and should feel like one. Another reason was that these ships have already proven themselves in practice, and Concordia builds them from stock, which meant a shorter delivery time for us. The cooperation with the yard and CCM3 went smoothly, efficiently, and pleasantly, and we look forward to the first voyages.”
Nico de Bie, Project Manager at Concordia Damen, adds:
“We thank Karel Jan van de Pol and his partners for their trust and cooperation, and we wish them a safe and prosperous journey. Every successful delivery strengthens the reputation of our CDS 135-meter series as a reliable, efficient, and future-proof design—and we, along with our partners, are proud of that. It’s great to see another tanker built in Werkendam setting sail on the European inland waterways.”
